Think well about

Most people use the move to get rid of some things. These can be given away to the Salvation Army or similar organizations, family and friends, or sold. If you have the time, you can make a list of the approximate cubic meter-volume of the individual items. It will then be much easier to calculate how big a moving car you need, and you can increase your winnings even more by not renting too big a car.

Pack in boxes

As a starting point, all things that fit in a box are packed in boxes. For clothes, duvets and pillows, you may well use garbage bags that are sold at grocery stores for a tenner. Original packaging for TV/PC equipment is convenient if you have saved on these. Banana boxes from the convenience store are a good option. You can also buy special boxes for moving. Make sure all boxes have lids. It makes it much easier to stack in a moving truck. Also remember that the boxes should be carried: Do not overfill each box, and do not use too large boxes. Wrap all glass in newsprint. Label each box with both what they contain, and which room they are going to.

Use bag wheels to move the boxes and other heavy items in and out of the moving truck. This saves a lot of time and avoids heavy lifting. We offer rental of moving equipment, both ordinary bagwheels and bagwheels intended for stairs.

Moving Tips

• Boxes should be rigid, strong and they should be able to be closed. If you pack in boxes, it will be easier to stack.
• Paper for wrapping glasses, pictures and the like. Newspaper papers ok, but it tarnishes.
• Laminate, corrugated board or bubble wrap if something is particularly fragile.
• Tape and felt-tip pen.
• Blankets or plaids to protect the furniture. Even one kilometer is enough to destroy furniture that squeaks against each other.

You should make sure of this:

• Keep it tidy and tidy in the house before moving. Sort furniture and things according to where they are going. What not to do with the moving item is kept away. Preferably in your own room.
• Pack one and one compartment at a time. Consider what you are packing. Take the opportunity to throw.
• Books and records should be packed in appropriate cartons. Limiting weight. Ten to fifteen kilograms is suitable.
• Put heavy stuff at the bottom of the boxes and lighter stuff on top. Do not fill whole boxes with heavy things.
• Mark the boxes with contents and where they can be stacked.
• Curl up some paper and place it on the middle at the top of the boxes before closing them. Then you get a protective air layer.
• All glass and porcelain are packed separately. Things should not be able to rub against each other.
• Garbage bags are lightweight and resorted to, but offer no protection.
• Tissue paper prevents silverware from tarnishing, but is far too thin and offers little protection.
• Tape again the opening on rice and semolina packages.
• Move the drawers with contents. If necessary, take out the heaviest and things that can crush.
• Do not tape drawers and cabinets on furniture — there may be unsightly marks when you remove the tape.
• Take out loose plates of cabinets and place them at the bottom.
• If you need to disassemble the furniture, then a mixture of sawdust and wood glue is good for fixing the screws again.
